Cats on The Rocks
The one day I think to take pictures of the cats that live on the quay between the river and Mission Bay I can only find one of them. There were at least eight the last time I was out here. They all seemed young and similar in appearance enough that I suspect someone abandoned an entire litter. It's not really too bad a place for them, they can get fresh water when the sprinklers com on at night, there's evidence that someone is feeding them and they aren't that shy. So they aren't totally feral.
The one here had been sunning on the rocks and watched me watching him. They all seem to look to humans for whatever they can get; play up to you to scam you out of some food while you're fishing. No idea where the others are, I hope someone took them home. If not then this might be the best place for them in this town. There are coyotes around the valley, you hear them at night and one took a pet Chihuahua on the trails behind the complex here, in broad daylight, right in front of the horrified owner. The river mouth shown here is isolated from that by roads and train lines et cetera.
